The Mental Gate

How can I disallow anxiety to rule my mind in the midst of an anxiety attack. How can one quiet a multitude of different thoughts that are all going a mile a minute at once?
This helps me tremendously. Quiet the thoughts. Control the thoughts. Reciting this scripture saves my life every time:
Philippians 4:4-9 “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
This one helps also. I practice putting a “gate around my mind” no negative thoughts in or out. Before a negative thought has a chance to get out…I recite this:
2 Corinthians 10: 4-5
4(For the weapons of our warfareare not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Use a mental gate. Block out all negative thoughts….none in none out. Guard your mind.
