Hope can bless you!!

Hope can bless your life. Do you know that? You need to know that having hope alone can truly bless your life. A wonderful example of how important it is to have hope and faith is found in a bible story in the old testament. When the children of Israel were approaching the promised land….they saw that it was a land of abundance. It was the land of milk and honey. Everything was abundant in size including the inhabitants. Moses sent 10 spies to scope out the land and they were discouraged when they saw Giants and automatically assumed that they would not be able to conquer the land because they were up against some HUGE adversaries. HOW is it that they were so easily deterred by Giants in the PROMISE LAND. That does not even make sense to me how this land was already promised by God, yet the what they saw completely shook their faith! This is baffling but in essence we live our lives like that a lot of the time. Things we rightfully deserve are often passed up due to our self doubt. We need to have confidence in what God has for us and what he can do through us and stop aggrandizing our own selves because we have such limited power on our own. In an instant our lives could be wiped off the face of this earth and there is nothing we could do about it. Think of the people who are not here with us this year but were with us last year…
Back to the story. So Caleb and Joshua were the only ones who were not discouraved and because of that GOd blessed them and they were able to reach the promised land. Can you imagine the horror of not being able to recieve a promise from God becaue of mere doubt. For some of us it has happened already and will continue to if you do not have hope in the Lord. God does not back out on his word. When he says he will do something, he always does it.
What area of your life are you lacking hope in? Start believing in what God can do. If you can’t see it …. then have a little faith and believe in what you can’t see. If you don’t have the confidence in yourself, then have confidence in knowing that God holds the keys to life and death, and he also holds the keys to the power that he can work through you.
