Speak Life into your Life!!!

January 7, 2009

Every now and then we need to do a check up.  (Pull out the stethoscopes!)  We have to check in with ourselves and see whether or not our hearts are in the right place.  Sometimes the things of the world can infiltrate our hearts and put heaps of trash in it.  Luke 6:45 says: “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”  What have you been talking about lately? How have you been talking lately? Have you been speaking about positive things?  Have you been encouraging yourself and others? Have you been gossiping and diminishing your own dreams?  Have you been using profanity or vulgar language?  Whatever the case may be…it is all a matter of the heart.

Again, as I reflect on the word of God which is the standard by which I measure my life, I am again inspired by a sweet scripture that is so relevant.  Colossians 4:6 says: “Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.”   The way we talk is a reflection of what is in our hearts and the things we say can impact people tremedously.  This can be a positive thing or a negative thing.  With that being said, are you a positive or a negative person.  1 Peter 3:10 says: ““For the person who wants to love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.”  Let’s love life.  Lets speak of things that bring life into a situation…a joyous life that is. BOOO for evil and deceit!  When you love life, you attract people who love life too.  Being surrounded by people who love life is a beautiful way to live.

You have a choice between being positive or being negative.  Today iHope you will make the choice of seasoning your speech with grace and speaking life into your best and worst situations.
