Most people can describe themselves pretty accurately. But lots of individuals have a very skewed perception of themselves. Romans 12: 3 says: “For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.”  Some people thing to highly of themselves and some people underestimate or diminish their unique and precious qualities because they can’t see their own worth.  Self aggrandizement is very prideful dishonest and off-putting, and I’m sure we have all encountered people who give themselves more points than they deserve. It is very unhealthy to have a distorted self image. In order to really have a healthy self image we must be honest with ourselves. Sometimes its easier to get a real perspective on who we are by asking the people who know us well to describe us in their own words…

Exercise: Ask people who know you how they perceive you.
